Bulk transportation
Part deliveries are transported ‘door to door’ where possible, i.e. without transhipment. This reduces the risk of damage, particularly when handling products sensitive to overloading. A single driver is in control the entire route. In situations where we cannot make the delivery ourselves, we operate through our Italian partner’s local network. This partner shares our high quality standards.

Chilled – frozen transportation
The transport of fresh and conditioned products is always a race against time. On their way to fresh-produce markets all across Europe, De Waard Transport’s chilled/frozen combinations travel all across Europe. After all, what’s fresh needs to stay fresh. For this reason, we operate daily non-stop routes, also at the weekend, with guaranteed times of arrival.

Intermodal transportation (combined road/rail transportation)
Intermodal transportation is receiving a great deal of government backing in a bid to promote both the environment and mobility. It is an economic and environmentally-friendly solution that fits in with our aim for operating a socially responsible business.

Combined road/rail transportation is particularly suitable for heavy loads and for large- volume, low-weight loads. As load capacities grow, prices are becoming more competitive.

In 1996 De Waard Transport first introduced 8 – 8 skip trucks on the route to and from Italy. The entire route control from and to Italy is carried out in-house, including the pre and post route, both in the Netherlands and in Italy. There are daily departures, also at weekends.

Types of goods
Operating from an agricultural district, agricultural transports have always been an important part of the goods flow processed by De Waard Transport, including the conditioned transportation of vegetables, fruit, breeder seeds and flower bulbs. In addition to these traditional products, De Waard has expanded its chilled/frozen transportation services to include a multitude of products such as meat, fish, chips, dairy products, etc. In addition, De Waard handles the bulk transportation of a wide range of products, ranging from industrial products, machine parts, construction products like tiles and marble from Italy, to unique products like live bumblebees – each and every one of them products that require just that little bit of extra care and attention.
